ABOUT
I am Eddie M. Bryson V, born and raised in Memphis, TN. I primarily focus on creating 2-D paintings and hip-hop/rap music. My roots in the Delta of Mississippi and the Southern values taught to me by my parents inspire my appreciation for creative works focused on love and storytelling.
I graduated from St. Olaf College with a B.A. in Studio Art in 2020. There I also played football for 4 years and worked as a server/student supervisor in Stav Hall. I currently work at Judyland Studios, by artist Judy Onofrio, in Rochester, MN.
Artist Statement:
My paintings focus on expressing rhythm and empathetic narration. I show stories of my life and my relationship with my family. My visual creations go hand in hand with my developing rap career, continuing similar themes through the musical process. I continue to paint and rap because I believe Art, in both of these forms, holds power to give hope, give understanding of community, and develop self-reflection.
